- Release Note 4

77 DJs on the platform now, open for booking!

Nightlife seems to be on the brink of starting again soon, bookers and organizers of events are in full preparation of a thrilling party season, DJs are ready to roll with new mixes and sets. And at Djamm.in we can’t wait either.

Again, we have used our time well, meeting with DJs and bookers, hosting Djamm Sessions and continuing the development of the platform. And again, thanks for all your feedback! It’s great to be building Djammin with you and with some other front runners in the music and dance scene!

New features

Chats between bookers and DJs - This last month we have focused on one key feature: a chat mode, to be actioned before making a booking. Bookers and DJs can now chat before as well as after they agree to a gig. So, they can reach a mutual understanding on what to do for the audience, for how long and at what price. If they wish, they can close the deal only after such a conversation, giving more confidence to all that you’ll get the right show at the right party.

Settle on a tailored price - What’s more is that bookers and DJs can also land on a set price for that right show at the right party. During the chat, they can agree to another fee. Then both can confirm that new special fee, in order to close the deal.

Landing page search bar - Right on the Djamm.in landing page, we have added a nice search bar too. In this search bar, bookers can quickly add the location and date of their event. They’ll get a display of all the available DJs for that. After that, the usual filtering can be applied to this subset of available DJs. So you all know at a glance from which DJs you’re to choose.

Search by name - If bookers or DJs already know the name of whom they wish to take a peek at, they can now add a DJ name in the search bar and land straight on their DJ Profile.

Bug fixes and small improvements - And of course, we continue cleaning up bugs and making small improvements.

DjammSession

Yanda, Tjune & Velez, also known as AMMAPANJA, dropped by this month, bringing Ave with them. They played some of the best urban tunes, while filling the studio with their amazing energy. Maker sure to check them out:

New features will continue to be added, based on your feedback: the site should be yours! Our philosophy is to continuously improve your experience on the platform.

- Release Note 3

74 DJs on the platform now, booking has started!

Over the festive period, we’ve had many conversations with DJs and bookers. And again, some of you gave us outstanding ideas and suggestions, thanks for all that feedback! It’s great to be building Djammin with you and with some other front runners in the music and dance scene!

New features

Previous gigs and DJ Type added - This last month we have focused on adding more opportunity for DJ’s to show who they are -and for bookers to select the DJs they’re looking for-. We’ve included a possibility to add previous gigs to a profile. And we’ve added another filter, to distinguish between Arthouse and Party. We do hope that these very different styles speak for themselves. If you already have a profile on Djammin, you may want to go back to it and update it for these features.

Sharing - We also understand that many of you would like to easily share their or someone else’s profile. So we added a SHARE button.

VAT - On the invoice, we now specify the VAT, so your admin life gets a bit easier too. One of our goals is to make the booking process as easy as possible, so you can focus on throwing a great party.

Bug fixes and small improvements - And of course, we continued cleaning up bugs and making small improvements.

DjammSession

To cap off 2021 we’ve had our second DjammSession with the boys of NewTone. They played an amazing house set and even brought some of their own unreleased tracks with them. Make sure to check out their session!

- Release Note 2

68 DJs on the platform now!

Since we launched the beta version of Djammin a little more than a month ago, we’ve had many conversations with other DJs, as well as with bookers. Some of you gave us outstanding ideas and suggestions, thanks for all that feedback! It’s great to be building Djammin with you and with some other front runners in the music and dance scene!

New features

Now offering subscriptions - This last month we added the possibility for bookers to join Djammin through a subscription. For a fixed fee per month, you get the right to book DJs without paying service fees. This feature is specially designed for those of you who book more often than once in a lifetime. We distinguish three levels of membership:

Guest Membership - Allows to browse, listen to, watch and book DJs. The fee for each booking is 10% on top of the DJ rate. Guest membership is free of charge.

Community Membership - Allows to browse, listen to, watch and book 4 DJs per year for free. The fee for Community Membership is 10 EUR per month.

Professional Membership - Allows to browse, listen to, watch and book an unlimited amount of DJs for free. The fee for Community Membership is 25 EUR per month.

45 genres - We also improved the way to add your genres to your profile or search, making it a lot easier for you to clearly identify what you play -or look for-. Djammin now distinguishes 6 main categories:

  • House
  • Urban
  • HipHop
  • Electronic
  • Techno
  • Other

Each category is split into a variable and relevant number of subcategories, bringing the total number of genres to 45.

Bars added - We included a new category for occasions: the bar, or party bar, which clearly is a different occasion than a Clubnight, Festival or Party.

And a special shout out to:

Marith, Quinny J & Jahwin for spinning some of the best tracks at the first DjammSession, hosted by our very own Jobi One! They brought some amazing energy to the studio and had a great time together, mixing old-school hip-hop tunes with the newest urban hits. For our next session Emanuel will be inviting a few local house legends, so make sure to check out the Djamm.in socials.

Djamm.in beta is live now!

As you’ve probably noticed, a live version of the Djamm.in platform was launched on October 15th. Until today 34 DJs have signed up and left their profiles, plus a Soundcloud link, allowing them to be booked by bookers across the world. One key feature of the site is the Feedback button, which will allow you to request features to be developed and added to the platform, in order to make it as much of your liking as possible. Our philosophy is to continuously add new features.

New features

Expenses - This month we have added functionality to add expenses to a booking. As a DJ, you can now add transparent travel expenses to your profile.

  • You can indicate how much you charge per kilometer. Djamm.in will then calculate the travel expenses by measuring the distance to the event from your home location and back. Charging a low fee per kilometer, may increase your chances of getting gigs out-of-town. If you don’t want that, you can increase your price per kilometer as well -or you reduce the distance you want to travel.
  • You can also add an expense to your equipment. Just think of the price you want to charge for your DJ set and/ or the amplification you want to bring. Bookers can then see that upfront and decide to consider you for a booking with or without these extras.

Ratings - We added the possibility for bookers to rate the DJ, upon completion of the event. The rating is based on a 5 star scale, from outrageously bad to greatest show ever. The average rating of all bookers will be shown on the DJ’s profile as well as on the listing page, as soon as the DJ has been booked more than twice. This feature adds to the possibility to leave a review, which was already there.

Adding a profile without Soundcloud - Some of you asked to allow DJs to publish their profiles, without a link to a Soundcloud file. Now we do. This is obviously not ideal for bookers, especially those who don’t know the DJ yet, but it may help to speed up the process and allows you to add data to your profile in a step-by-step fashion.

Mobile - We’ve also cleaned up the mobile version of the platform. It now looks a lot nicer, almost fully in line with the desktop version of the site.

37 DJs on our platform now!

DJammin DJs at House of Arts - House of Arts, one of Amsterdam’s hottest parties post pandemic, had a very special edition in Lovelee this month, featuring friends of 7 Samurai Samurai Collective or trained at their DJ Academy -and with their profiles on Djammin:

  • Mia Cicille
  • Emanuel
  • Walex Sounds
  • Jimi Jua

They proved to be ready to breakthrough and threw an unforgettable evening of dance and fun.

And a special shout out to:

Chateau Margaux

One of the rising stars in Amsterdam, playing all sorts of house music. Last month she performed in the same lineup as Benny Rodrigues. She also is one of the instructors at the 7 Samurai Collective DJ Academy.
